不破正仁准教授は海外研修制度を活用して５月より来年の２月までデンマーク・オーフスに行っています。不破先生より現地での活動報告が届きましたのでご紹介します。

8月のご報告です。
ここでは、オーフス建築大学でのミーティングの様子、大中小の３タイプを紹介してみたいと思います。
私が目にした中で一番大きなミーティングは、ブレックファーストミーティングと呼ばれるものです。これは、大学職員の全てがカンティーンに集まり、8:15からコーヒーを飲み始め、8:30から学長の挨拶により会議が始まるというスタイルで、学期末や学期のはじめに用意されているもののようです。ここでは、研究者による最新の研究紹介も行われ、軽快であり厳かな雰囲気のなかで会が進行してゆきます。
中規模なものとしては、大学内の各所に用意されているミーティングスペースを活用した研究打ち合わせの様子をよく目にします。私も、8月後半に文化遺産の研究チームの方々にミーティングに誘っていただきました。これは、6月に行われたものの続きなのですが、私の研究とデンマークでの関心について紹介する機会をいただきました。日本の歴史的町並みや文化的景観にも関心を持っていただいているようで、親身に話を聞いてくださいました。このようなミーティングが続いてゆけば良いなと、願っております。ちなみに、ここでも美味しいケーキとコーヒーが用意されていました。私は話題提供の緊張で、その場では口にすることが出来ず（汗）、自分のデスクに持ち帰りいただきました。本当に素敵な習慣です。
そして、オフィスでは賑やかで爽やかな小規模ミーティングが繰り広げられています。デスクの高さが可動式で、座って打ち合わせをすること、立ち仕事でパソコン画面をみながら壁越しに話をすることの両方がフレキシブルに行える環境のようです。素敵だなと思い、写真を撮らせてもらいました。
オフィスでは、近くの研究者の方が親身に声をかけてくださることもあり、本当に居心地のよい環境で、このような状況に感謝してもしきれません。

This is my report for August. Here, I would like to tell you about three types of meetings, which are large, medium and small, at Aarhus School of Architecture,
The biggest meetings I’ve seen are called breakfast meetings. This is a style in which all university staff gather at the canteen, start drinking coffee at 8:15, and the meeting begins at 8:30 with the rector’s greeting. At this time, researchers introduce their latest research, and the meeting proceeds in a light and solemn atmosphere.
As for medium-sized ones, I often see research teams gathered in the meeting spaces provided throughout the university. I too was invited to join a meeting with the cultural heritage research team in late August. This was a continuation of what was held in June, and I had the opportunity to introduce my research and interests in Denmark. They seemed to be intrigued by Japan’s historical townscapes and cultural landscapes, so they listened to me intently. I look forward to participating in more of these meetings in the future
By the way, In true Denmark fashion, scrumptious cake and coffee were prepared here as well. I was nervous about providing a topic, and I got butterflies in my stomach when they asked me to share. I couldn’t eat it on the spot, and my palms were starting to get a bit sweaty. Fortunately, I was able to bring the cake back to my desk and enjoy it after the meeting.
And in the office, lively and stimulating small meetings are unfolding. The heights of the desks are adjustable, so it seems to be an environment that offers flexibility. You could have meetings while sitting or do your work standing up. You could also chat with your co-workers next to you while still looking at your computer screen. I thought it was nice, so I took a picture of it.
In the office, I shoot the breeze with my neighboring researchers and it makes for a really warm and welcoming environment.
